Slot Coat Gluing to Plastic tape on bag making machine.
Here pictured is a pair of our own designed and built Mk5 Double slot coat hotmelt guns installed to a bag making machine.
Each Gun is applying a double row of 8mm wide glue as a thin flat strip onto a plastic tape which is then applied to a continuous web of plastic material. The gun mounting rail is air actuated so as to withdraw the guns from the tape when a preset minimum web speed is reached. This prevents burning of the plastic tape by the hot gun.
A photocell device monitors the tape supply, and stops the glue flow should the tape run out or break.
The end product is a bag with peel strip typically used in the postal or commercial carrier business.
Brunel Engineering Services designed, built and installed the complete bracket system, the Hotmelt Glue Heads, and the tape reels. Additionally we specified and supplied the Hotmelt Glue System.
